Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is a newly implemented strategic government policy in Indonesia, aimed at improving the nutritional and health quality of its recipients. From an Islamic perspective, food preparation is not only required to meet nutritional standards but also to prioritize halal product assurance (JPH). The Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) is responsible for ensuring compliance with halal assurance, ensuring that every meal served under the MBG program is not only nutritious but also halal and good (thayyib). This study aims to analyze the role of BPJPH in ensuring the halal status of the MBG program by examining its authority and responsibilities, along with their implications for consumer protection and the principles of Islamic economic law. The analysis shows that BPJPH plays a key role in ensuring that the implementation of the MBG program meets halal standards, guarantees the rights of Muslim consumers, and complies with national regulations related to halal product assurance, ensuring that it is truly in accordance with Islamic economic lawand can provide sustainable benefits.
