PENGARUH MENGHAFAL AL-QUR’AN TERHADAP KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL REMAJA

Memorizing the Qur'an is an activity that is seen as a noble practice, both in the eyes of humans and before Allah SWT. This activity involves a lot of various aspects, starting from a person's thinking ability, the ability to understand the contents of the content to the ability in emotional intelligence. The motivation of a person in memorizing varies. This depends on the orientation to be achieved. The objectives of this study are: 1) To find out the students' ability to memorize the Qur'an at the Laroyba Islamic Boarding School, Serang City, 2) To find out the emotional intelligence of the students at the Laroyba Islamic Boarding School, Serang City, 3) To find out the effect of memorizing the Al-Qur'an an on the emotional intelligence of students at the youth level at the Laroyba Islamic Boarding School, Serang City. This type of research is a quantitative study using correlation analysis. The research results show that; 1) Santri who memorize the Qur'an at the Laroyba Islamic Boarding School are in the fairly good category, this is evidenced by the acquisition of a percentage score of 63.64 which is between 56-70, 2) The emotional intelligence of the students is in the fairly good category, this is evidenced by the acquisition percentage value is 57.57% which is between 56-70, 3) There is an effect of memorizing the Qur'an on emotional intelligence with a correlation number of 0.45 which is between 0.40 - 0.70. The interpretation is: Memorizing the Al-Qur'an affects emotional intelligence in the moderate category. While the value of the coefficient of determination is (0.45)2 = 0.2025 or 20.25%, while the remaining 70.75% is influenced by other factors.
